As per your experience, I did a clean re-install of SuSe 10 and this time the kde was selected with other additional programs. It was pretty impressive. The games are nice too.
There is no kppp in SuSe10. Instead, they have 'kinternet'. That does not open at all. It keeps throwing errors even in root login. However there is wvdial and I simply copied my fc4 script into suse and it connects to the net along with sites opening properly.
It mounts my usb pendrive beautifully. The only problem that still persists is that of cds not mounting. It only mounts the suse dvd.
I am posting my fstab. Please check yours for comparison.
