a jquiery demo/tutorial will give a good introduction to javascript and at the same time give incentive for the newbies to jump in and use it.
i'm happy to do a jquery demo / tutorial - been working with it for about a year now and feel fairly comfortable. just let me know if people are interested and i'll spend a couple days preparing.
