MTNL's triband is getting from bad to worse with connectivity problems, when I need it the most.
It is surprising for /me/ to note this. I assume, the causes could be
a. The (longer) distance of your (exchange's?) DSLAM from the place of installation. (Wire quality, QoS etc.) b. The SNR (or Line Attenuation) on your line. c. A parallel line (telephone at your home) of the same number.
Its pppoe is not connecting in afternoons and early evenings. These are exchange problems. It happens to many of my clients, even those who got new direct cabling done. Today after power booting the modem at least 15 times, finally I got connection but no ping to the DNS servers.
My client who just got a new connection last week finds that it keeps going off the net even though its properly wired. He is into share trading and cannot afford to loose live quotes. And he is on a different exchange hardware too ( Alcatel, the one where user name is followed by an '@a' It is a general degradation of MTNL's systems over time.
