But if there is a software that will analyse a page and tell what problems are on it that will prevent the search engine from putting it in relevant search or from putting it on the top, then such a software will be useful to all who develop (or commission someone to develop) a website. If there is an open source software that does it, than it is better for that.
- make sure that your web page is standards compliant - lot of
software for that
Does standard compliant pages come up higher on google search ?o u I am yet to see that. In fact, I suspect non-compliant pages are on the top, going by the Hall of Shame listing.
- make sure it is well designed - lot of examples for that
- make sure there are no broken links - lot of software for that
- make sure that there are no circular links - links to sites
leading back to your site
Well, pages with circular links do come up on the top of google listing, but that part at least is probably unethical.
- make sure that there is good content - no software for this, only
common sense 6. make sure it is useful 7. make sure it has an USP
then you dont have to worry about SEO
You forgot another important thing. Google spider will rank higher pages whose content changes more often.
Why would sensible people not discuss it.
because sensible people do the above and so do not need to discuss SEO
That is a flame bait, but I will leave it at that. No, even the most sensible people do not do that. I can show you so many sites by large companies and so called smart people that do not do what you said. That is why SEO is a profitable business.
