Hello Luggers,
I am developing a cross platform installer in java. I need to create desktop shortcuts and start menu item on Unix/Linux. I am considering KDE, GNOME, Openwin and CDE as target GUI for Unix/Linux systems. I am a newbie for GUI programming on Unix/Linux. Can anybody help me to accomplish this? I am ready for using any native code if required.
It will be great if I can get insight with respect to nature and structure of shortcut (link) files. Is there any readymade library (docs) of APIs like we have MSDN for windows?
