Thanks Chirag. Yes I have seen the demo. I was also told about Alfresco being more scalable but a bit more complex. Also that KT is said to be rudimentary in so far as capturing work flow is concerned. I wanted to consider using the same for academic institutions, typically groups of institutions under a single authority. Recently I have decided to check out the commercial version since I was so far trying only the community one. Hence I wanted to get opinion of others. jitendra

Does any one have any experience of DMS like Alfresco or KnowledgeTree? Which is better? Any case study or any deployment one can see?
I have tried out KnowledgeTree and was quite impressed. The install was straightforward enough, but some significant time and effort would need to be spent training the end users about permissions, groups, roles etc.
I presume you have already looked at the demo at: http://demo.knowledgetree.com/login.php
One issue I did not look at at all was security since it was to be deployed on an internal LAN server. If your deployment is to be accessible online, I would suggest you pay special attention to this.
Also keep in mind that it is quite memory intensive on the server.
