Sometime on Dec 24, J. T. D'souza assembled some asciibets to say:
With X3.3.6 after tweaking modelines, I had a res of 1280x1024 24bpp with SIS6326 and samtel monitor. X4 gives a resolution of 1024 x 768
Maybe you should send your modelines to XFree86.org, it would help them in getting better support for X4.1.0.
