Can someone explain how does one log into KDE from GDM and vice versa? IMHO when one reaches the graphical login window, both KDM and GDM are active, except in the background as an rc.x process. A KDE or Gnome session is chosen either by default or by manually setting it and that session uses KDM or GDM for KDE and Gnome respectively.
