Okay, the comparisons to Fedora mean nothing to me. According to the Debian web site sarge=testing sid=unstable and woody=stable.

Once you have a basic system installed from disc 1, you can tweak sources.list and get whatever you want off the net.
apt-get (install:update:upgrade) As simple as that
Tweaking sources.list enables you to change between stable/unstable/testing and also lets you set the appropriate package mirror (mine is set to the one at work, for all work computers as well as gort).
