U did not ask the right questions at the right places. GNU/Linux has been flying since 1999 with me.
got hold of an old Live CD of Debian with Gnome 2.4 and find the desktop architecture really cool.
Here are a few questions I need answered:
1.Will someone educate me on the new Debian 4 release? What are the system requirements?
Try sarge. works on a via c3 with 128 MB. 256MB makes it fly.
2.ToI of yesterday has the piece on Knoppix having a desktop even better than Windows Vista.
Vista is vapour ware amongst the more charitable descriptions.
Can it be installed or it exists only on a Live CD format?
Knoppix can be installed to your hard drive. But read up properly about partition tables and windoze wickedness before installing. Ideally use a new hardisk.
