Hi,
If your ISP is one of the generic ones then there will be no problems, but these small local ISP's somehow have got hold of Elitecore.com to give them software, it is only a problem with that and as Trevor told us there is a gnu-linux client. So chill, you will on the faster connection very soon.
Bye.

Hi,
Now **I** am confused and concerned. I have 2 lan cards on my pc. One of them connects to an internal office network and the other to the Cable ISP thing, very similar to what kshitijv uses. I use wingate to connect other PCs in the office to internet. I am reinstalling Linux next week. The ISP guys told me that they can support (Earlier, I was using dialup modem so this problem did not come up). I plan to continue using the same lan card for internet even in Linux. Does this mean I can not use internet from both the OS ?
Is there any workround ?

AAggggh....
Here i know exactly wat is the problem... u having two network cards on ur machine ?? if yes then u got to either stick to only one OS permanently, coz u need
to
tell ur ISP to reset your MAC Address Information and then go in Linux and login there, and then never ever u can login frm win2k ;) (coz i dont know y is that so ... but it is like that ...)
and linc is the only one which keeps your connection on n on n on ... the 24online linux client given doesnt give constant connection. so take that extra pain n find out the login code :)
should u need any thing, let me know.

Hi Mitul, Thanks for prompt reply. I am aware of "linc". I have tried it also and able to connect to my
ISP.
But, my problem is, my ISP has configured the server software so that I
can login from only one OS.
E.g. if I login from WIN2000 for first time, I will have to use WIN2k
for accessing the Net. I will not be able to login from Linux or even WIN98 afterwards. It says "You are not allowed to login from this machine".
I actually wonder how the server software is identifying that I am
trying to login from different OS. The hardware (i.e. Machine) is the same. It is just the case of multibooting system.
I have checked that the port used by the client software on WIN98 and
Win2k is different. Is it the cause of problem? If yes, how can I force the client to use same port across all OSs that I have?
