Are
you a paid up member of Meetup. According to the web site only if you
are a
paid up member of Meetup can you acess the Email ID of the local co-ordinator.
No, I am not a paid member, but Rajkumar gets mails from RedHat on a regular basis as the company he
works
in is a channel partner of RedHat.
Did you attend the Mumbai (LUG) meeting at
Lonavla
this time??
No, I did not go. And neither did all the others. Apparently the plan fizzled out like a wet firecracker. This was mainly due to lack of
positive
response. It is sad, but it happens all the time. Whenever something new and exciting is planned,
there
is a lot of hoo-haa about it. But with passage of time, the initiative is lost and people lose
interest.
The same was the case when FlashMob happened in San Fransisco. Somebody suggested that we do something similar. I was quite enthusiastic about it. Kept sending reminder mails, it was no use. The people
were
just not interested anymore. Sad, but true.
