True. Mrugesh, why do you want to exit emacs ? :-)
After you are done with a buffer do C-x k
It will ask you if you want to kill that buffer, then just hit Enter.
If you are not using it, simply do a C-z to background it and go back to bash. You can do an fg to go back. Overtime you may find that you are using emacs for nearly everything :-)
