He want to play with linux safely so i install ubuntu 10.10 under his windows by wubi on his DELL notebook, installation was smooth no problem until login after loging ubuntu frees up this happen often after that try this in his acer power pc desktop same thing happen.. no cd used no nothing from faulty media
The couple of times, I have installed Ubuntu under Windows with wubi, it performed slow.
Go native, repartition the hard drive and free up space for Ubuntu and dual boot.
