My requirements are very simple. I need to make use of a protocol that is low on cpu cycles and also offers reliability. TCP proves itself on the reliability front but is a high on cpu cycles.
Those who do not understand TCP...
If you need reliability, use TCP. If you need performance, and can sacrifice reliability, use UDP. If you want both, buy more bandwidth, and sign a SLA with your provider for the reliability.
