hi,
there is a program called Klettres in KDE for teaching alphabets in any language. We have done the Tamil, Kannada and Telugu versions of this - details at

hindi is already there - so just 18 languages to go
KLettres is a part of the KDE-Edutainment package. Kushal,
guess why am I CC-ing this email to you ;)
Kenneth, I am assuming the modifications can be sent
upstream, non? Do you want some help in this regard? I am sure you very well know what needs to be done.
Ok, cc-ing to Anne-Marie Mahfouf ( Original Dev, Maintainer
of KLettres ) - hey Annma :), I am sure you can help us with adding new languages/sounds in KLettres. Thanks in advance. :)
Kartik - kemcho bhai? Mrugesh - kasa aahes mitra? Kushal - tumi jaano tomake ki korte hobe :)
Annma, I am hoping that 3 more Indian languages will be added soon to KLettres. Thank you for your damn cool work :) Oh and if you are confused, these three gentlemen above speak different langauges and are foss contributors in different projects. I hope you get stuff from three new languages - Gujarthi, Marathi and Bengali other than the ones that Kenneth listed in the original post.
Cheers!
