I agree with Rajesh ,
me too. How bout a second round of poll to decide this ? AFAIK the last one decided to send warning to html mailers ?
But i think in our mailing list we prefer TEXT mail over HTML mail and we do send out only text output of html mail
Yes. We as in veterans and ppl aware of the issue.
either we can entirely reject the email which do not have text mime part message in the body of email or we convert the text out of html [quoted printable/ 7 bit ]
Nor is it good enough banning html mails since newbies don't know and don't care. We can't scare them away.
so if we sending the text mail as dump of lynx or links then we should do it properly as encoding of quoted printable is not exactlly as html .
righto there should be tons of utils / scripts to do exactly that. Script geeks please help here.
The list admin should not be mangling the email body any more than adding the list footers.
I don't think we should suffer in silence and keep requesting ppl to use text.
the list admin should not do the mangling the script will do so .
bingo.
So for the record my vote is : We extract the text from html mails and display after proper decoding. We don't throw them nor do we display html.
cheers, C
