Actually, the fact that the device (phone+pda) uses the Linux kernel is not that much of a big deal as much as the sync utility being able to run on Linux.
The Palm Dekstop software which comes with the Palm PDA is available on Windows only.
There are other sync tools written by the KDE voluteers that enable users to syncronize the data between the PDA and Address Book, but I've not been able to get it to work on my boss's Notebook...
I suspect the problem is related to the USB / Serial Port configuration problem.
