Will gnu/linux work on trl monitor. I have RHL 5.0 (from PCQ). How do i configure the display card and the lan card. will i be able to load any GUI on it. I am willing to put in a 630mb or 1.2 gb hdd to make a complete install.
Suggestions are welcome.

I had (still have) a 386 with 8Mb RAM. I worked fine. I also ran X with Netscape ;)) (I used to make tea and drink it while it loaded). Console will always work. For X if your card is one of the common ones, it might be supported. Else you could try to acquire a common ISA card eg. trident, s3 etc. - you may get one at Laminton Rd. dirt cheap. But X will be terribly slow. Not advisable for serious work. If you are not using the current bloated distributions, 250Mb should be sufficient (I used to have 230Mb HDD).
Only one thing to remember (that is if you are using a current distrib.) Make sure that the kernel (and binaries) have been compiled for a 386 ! ;))
