Hello Arun,
I could manage to work my modem by using the command wvdialconf : Even you can try this :-
wvdialconf detects your modem, its maximum baud rate, and a good ini-tialization string. An exit status of 0 means that a modem was detected.
You can also check its help for set up of configuration file. If it's winmodem, RH9 does not detects the modem.

Hi,
I have a RH 9.0 installation on my home PC( with modem - Motorola SM56). I have installed the modem with a downloaded driver, but I don't know how to connect to the internet from that. I'm a novice in these networking and internet issues on Linux. Can someone tell me in detail what are the services I need to up and how to get connected to the net?
Thanks in advance,
Arun.
