Thanks J T D'souza,
well the point which you made is absolutely valid and hold good , for till the mailing list server was not enabled thnigs were looking fine.
But now again I started seeing the ISR reentrant messages in the log Aug 11 11:25:48 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!! Aug 11 11:33:02 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!! Aug 11 11:35:32 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!!
The mailing list software is majordomo majordomo-1.94.5 and the mailserver is sendmail
What I cannot understand is the relationship between the ISR reentrant call message and sendmail ?
Thanks

Hello all,
one of the servers which is under my administration is a Linux box
with dual
processor, currently running redhat 7.3
while checking through the logs (/var/log/messages) found out this
error
Jul 31 19:03:46 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!! Jul 31 19:26:55 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!! Jul 31 22:27:50 XXXXX kernel: ISR called reentrantly!!
The server is running a webserver and a mailinglist server
When interacting with the hosting company they said it is BIOS issue
, hence
we updated the BIOS.
AFAIK linux does not use the bios for anything. Infact u can remove the bios rom, put in a blank one reflash it with linux bios. Not so sure about SMP boards tho.
