Sometime on Jun 30, Linux @ Ramshyam assembled some asciibets to say:
Is there any [simply ANY] way to install Linux REMOTELY.
What has this got to do with the simputer? Please use a meaningful subject line.
What do you mean by install remotely? If you want to install from sources that are not on your local machine, that is possible. You need to have netboot for that.
If you want to install on a machine that is not local, that is possible too, but harder because you're not present to boot up the machine. Basically, you'll have to get the machine to boot using a network install boot image. You could probably put this onto your mbr and restart the machine remotely. You'll also have to get the install to run automatically through a script (expert mode), so have everything ready before hand.
I've never tried it before, and don't think I will, so if you succeed, tell us about it.
