I am having FC6 installed on IBM ThinkPad R40e. It hangs abruptly. Is there a way to find out the cause of it? I have checcked
/var/log/messages
but was not able to find anything concrete.
FC6 is not a nice distro. I had problems in installation itself in my PC as well as laptop.
The Linux For You Fedora Core 6 DVD seems to be defective. I used it on an IBM R51 and it failed to boot with a kernel panic. The reason I think this is not a problem with the distribution itself is because I found the downloaded ISOs from the mirrors working fine.
The worst part is that all the computer mags had only this distro for December as if it was a hot cake. :P
Well the DVDs they gave might be lukewarm at best. :-)
