What do you think we're trying to do? The official yahoo client uses an MD5 Challenge/Response pair that is near impossible to crack. If you can, please help. Get a packet sniffer (I think you already have one), and start working on the authentication part. Look for tcp connects on port 5050 from your machine with the PUSH flag set to 1.

Btw, isnt yahoo's official client good enough? I think it is almost same as windows yahoo client except no 'chat' feature is available.
No, it's not good enough. It is not released under the GPL which makes it very bad. You may be okay running non-free software. Many people are not. Besides, do you really think that vendor lock-in is a good thing for consumers?
