*Minutes of January GLUG-Meet @ Five Gardens*
The GNU/Linux Users Group of Mumbai held its January GLUG meet on 14th January 2006 at Five Gardens, Matunga. This meet was attended by about 15 people coming from all over the city and far suburbs.
This meet was much more interactive and more issues were discussed than it would have been possible in a classroom like environment.
Following discussions were held.

* Miscllaneous problems/solutions related to FAX/multimedia/desktop.
* Pradeepto demoed the KDE india T-Shirt logo and was wondering wether the swirls in tricolor were voilating the national flag code.

* GPLv3 and its implications on software developers and users. Why patenting of software is a so dangerous and how it kills innovation.
* Rony Bill raised some of the issues faced by hardware vendors while providing service to customers. The biggest problem faced by vendors is lack of person who are ready to experiment with something new. The Mumbai GLUG plans to conduct awareness workshops especially suited to hardware vendors/retailers, cyber cafe operators, jr-college students etc. Please get in touch with the list if you can help us in any respect.

* Upcoming Events: Mark Shuttleworth of Ubuntu/Canonical will address the Mumbai GLUG on 22nd Jan at 2PM. The venue is most likely to be IIT Bombay. Interested people can keep checking the homepage or mailing list for more details.
