The Application Enablement, Core Services & OS department in Avaya is responsible for implementing and maintaining three key strategic areas for Avaya - common OS & shared components, next generation middleware to communication enable business applications and SDK for business partners to build value added applications.

A key aspect of standardizing component across Avaya is to create a common operating system base, maintain security updates and upgrades for the Linux OS. We are looking for a lead software engineer 3-5 years of experience responsible for maintaining a standardize set of LINUX Redhat OS with following knowledge and expertise

Experience on Linux Redhat OS 3.0 and 4.0 Experience in creating RPMs Proficiency in either Perl or PHP scripting language

Proficiency in shell programming(SED, AWK, BASH) Python knowledge is desirable You would be required to work effectively in a team environment locally and with associates in the United States.

Any experience in enterprise telephony and VOIP or knowledge of Avaya VOIP PBX is a big plus.

There will also be ample opportunities in the future to work on other new and cutting edge technologies including web services, intelligent communication services, and prototype application for VOIP.
