Linux is not an os. It is the kernel for an os. The os you would be interested is GNU/Linux. First try knoppix. It is a bootable live GNU/Linux cd. The cd allows you to run gnu/linux without installing anything to your hard drive. If you have a dvd drive i could give you PCQuest Debian sarge dvd Price Rs.70 + courier charges. Alternately could some list member offer him Sarge on cds?
