I'm using Debian 5 w/ mutt, postfix, fetchmail, procmail. I have discontinued my mtnl triband and taken a reliance broadband netconnect connection.

I've configured the stuff in the usual way but fetchmail is acting up. These are the error messages.

please help, I have googled but am a bit lost.

Just start/restart your postfix. Also look if postfix fails to start in syslog/maillog for error.

This is what I get on bootup.

Starting Mail Transport Agent: postfixpostfix: fatal could not find any active network interfaces. Failed!
