Can u please tell me what is LDP and if it is LDAP (light weight directory access protocol). Can u please tellme how to configure LDAP on RED HAT linux 7.2.

Jokes apart... why don't you try looking up Google. Also a book called "Implementing LDAP" may prove to be useful...
As for telling you what LDAP is about, I trust you'll do your homework ;)
