What are the prospects of getting the job after LPI certifications? I do not think LPI is quite popular in India.

What are the prospects of getting the job after LPI certifications? I do not think LPI is quite popular in India.
The point is, if you do some certification that is good (which LPI is), before majority of the others do it, you can get the most out of your certification. If you do a certification which is not very good, then you would have wasted your time. Today you might find RHCE's everywhere, to add value to your resume, you need more than RHCE (workex for example). Workex does not come without working, alternative is some more certification. LPI level 1 is very good. I have completed LPI 1, 2 SCLP, RHCE myself.

Rs 1800 for each attempt of 101 / 102 / 201 / 202 [ otherwise it is $100 for CBT] on completing 101 n 102 you are awarded LPIC 1 on completing 201 n 202 you are awarded LPIC 2
on cannot be awarded LPIC 2 till LPIC 1 is achieved though he might have completed both 201 n 202 [ chk lpi.org for info]
dinesh shah has completed LPIC 2 . he can help the group on how to face the test :)

Those who wants their GNU/Linux certified by 3rd party, this is a cool deal.
The best part is, your certification is not tied to any particular GNU/Linux vendor. Moreover, the certification comes from a non-profit, vendor neutral body, with GNU Spirit in exam developments.

Yes, I did clear both levels. Preparing for 1st level is quite easy. Use GNU/Linux exclusively for a month on your desktop!! And you are ready for the 1st level.
However, 2nd level is bit of tough nut to crack. You need at least an year's extensive experience of GNU/Linux servers.
At any rate, Rs. 3600.00 for a GNU/Linux certificate is a steal. I would recommend to everyone to go for it.

yes this is the best part i also like ... you have a choice of RPM based test or DPKG based test .
LPI is quite democratic i believe . as far as i know its developed by the community ... the alumni come together to form the test objective and some core team helps makes the questions
also the fact is that a lot of IT cos are asknig for LPI now .. like novell ... heard some ppl from TCS taking the test too for some proj [ not sure ... heard at a test center ] ... IBM supports LPI they have a tut on developerworks http://www-106.ibm.com/developerworks/edu/l-dw-linux-lpir21-i.html
novell / suse certs have lpi as pre requisites
my 2 cents
