So we are now looking for the best platform to run that. We have zeroed in on Open Suse and Mandriva. Can someone tell us how to convert RPM packages run on Ubuntu. because we really liked the distro.

Use alien,to install alien,do sudo apt-get install alien ,then alien -d foo.rpm
