I have installed Squid on Linux server and accessing the internet from a Win95 m/c. Now, whenever the modem installed on the Linux server gets disconnected I have to go & dial from the server. Instead, I to configure the proxy such that the moment open the browser from the Win 95 client, Squid should cause the PPP to dialout automatically without my intervention. Can anybody tell me the config details for the same : I have Redhat Linux 7.1 installed & Squid which cam along with the package.

If you dont want to add too many options, just adding `demand' in your pppd options file is enough. In this case you have to specify the default route specifically. Long back I wrote a howto, you may find it in the archives.

Hi,
I wish to setup a monthly bandwidth quota like say 100MB-including HTTP/FTP etc, for every user. How can I do this. Does Squid help in this or do I require another application.
Thx, --Sandeep
