Hi, I couldnt find anything on the ILUG site, on how to re-build the kernel of a remote server... Could some one direct me to the right page? Thanx, Kunal
Sometime on Jul 1, Kunal Jhunjhunwala assembled some asciibets to say:
Could you fix your line length please?

It's not on the ilug site. Rebuilding the kernel on a remote host (not server) is the same as doing it on the local host. Telnet/ssh in and configure/build/install it. Do the lilo stuff, setting your new kernel as default, and then reboot (use the reboot command or use shutdown -r). Hope that everything restarts correctly. Give it some time to restart the telnet/ssh server, and then connect back to check that alls well.
I have done this before.
There you go. Don't think that needed an entire page devoted to it now does it?
Ciao,
Philip
PS: Rebuilding the kernel is covered in the kernel-Howto and was not be covered here.
