If you fit the requirements and are interested, then send me your profile preferably in plaintext (but .doc and .odt are welcome as well).
i find it HIGHLY OFFENSIVE that you are encouraging the use of a .doc file format in a GNU/Linux mailing list. Even if your mail is tagged as commercial.

oh no.. i am doomed. So what distro of GNU/Linux do you use?? i am sure it doesn't bundle OOo. Even if it does, they remove the capability to read / write .doc files.. right?
Gimme a break and be practical.. use the right tool for the job and stop being a GNU/Linux fanboi.. and while you are at it, stop calling it GNU/Linux as well.. simply 'linux' does the trick. Don't get me wrong, I love linux.. it gives me and my family lunch, dinner, an occasional drink and a good life. I am a linux user/admin, not a slave.
BTW, where do you see me encouraging the use of .doc?? all i mentioned was that they were welcome as well though plaintext (for readability) is preferred.
Looking at the feathers that i have been ruffling as of late, looks like i'm not too welcome on this list. If thats the general consensus i'll sadly un-subscribe. Feedback solicited.

Oh, boy! Not only do you not discourage the use of .doc files but you also don't discourage the use of "linux." You really are in for it now. I can sense the thought police gearing up already. i hope you are flame resistant. :)

Wrong and wrong. which makes me doubt that u have installed anything at all recently.

Hmm. seems like u are just getting used to non serfdom without releasing what is freedom. The reason that .doc files is a wrong tool for ANY job are too numerous to mention. But u could start with interopeability.

Whoever told u that. U are welcome until u are booted out. U will also know that u are stomping peoples toes when the list admin puts u on moderation. Until then keep posting - and expect fireworks. It takes all sorts of people to make a viable community - even the occassional use of doc files.

Freedom is responsibility.. freedom is letting others do what they choose. Freedom is NOT choosing your toothpaste, freedom is choosing whether you want to brush at all (ok bad example) as long as others don't get affected by bad breath. Sigh, maybe i went to the wrong school.

Are you suggesting that the high drama of the previous mail was only a tool?

Fanbois too have an important role to play IMHO. As someone said, it takes all kinds of people to form a vibrant community.

Some people don't have the luxury of being able to enforce that their resume will always be sent using open formats. The kind of people whose resumes will be sent in through recruitment agencies.
Live with it. You don't have to like it, it just happens to be a fact of life.

They can always write in FLOSS and send as a PDF: no luxury at all, maybe a bit more labor.
