[ah] I've had good experiences with ASUS and Gigabyte. If you have the money and are ready to buy additional ancillary hardware, I suggest you upgrade to their new 64 bit platform.

And I've had a bad one with Asus. I bought an Asus A7V8X motherboard last January and built myself a box with an Athlon XP 2000 CPU. The onboard sound died within a week of installation, and the ethernet within a few months. I was lucky - the dealer was a friend, and he replaced it with a MSI K7N2, which has performed flawlessly so far (around 8 months). YMMV.

Hi,
I have an AMD 2600XP with the Asus A7V8X board, and I've not had any problems this far (though I use an M-audio Revolution soundcard instead of the on-board sound). The PC is around 1 year old.
