The point being; this is a public mailing list. Your posts will be archived and published online in the public domain. Your little "legal notice" prohibits us from even receiving your emails let alone publishing them online in the public domain ;). Get it?

He has been informed earlier, .. ..here is the archive for reference, http://mm.ilug-bom.org.in/pipermail/linuxers/Week-of-Mon-20050328/019127.htm... {Note my request about disclaimers toward the end of the msg}.
If members continue to disregard netiquette followed by *each* list, they risk inviting knocks from the *list-admin* and others too.

There are some things which need to be done in a harsh manner. I wasnt trying to enforce my "superiority" or I never declared I was "God" or the "list-admin". I was just a frustrated, fellow member.

The point is, we cannot put your email (which contains your valuable suggestions) for public viewing on our mailing list archives, since your parent company claims its contents are private and confidential.
Your company's disclaimer states:
<quote> ... Access to this mail by anyone else is unauthorized. Any copying or further distribution beyond the original recipient is not intended and may be unlawful... </quote>
We want our mailing list archives to be as useful to people as possible. Archives are also backed up at many places. To avoid any legal hassels, it would be better if you use any free webmail/shell service providers. Or you may also ask your Mailserver admin to turn off that disclaimer.

Keith, the problem is simply this:
Unlike your office which provides you with an email address and a decent Internet connection, many people on this list have to pay for access, sometimes there is a price attached per MB download/upload.
While I most certainly agree that the "noise" in your mail doesn't addup to much costs to the end-user, but it does add up to a unnecessary but easily avoidable load on the ILUG-BOM server.
Also, the noise in your mail ceases to have any meaning when you send emails to your list. It is equivalent to publicly publishing information and then screaming it's confidential. You tell me, where's the meaning in this.
Regards,
ah
