Hi all!
I wonder whether you guys know of it. A new stable version of E16 - 0.16.6 - was released last wednesday. This is the first E16 release in over three years! I tried it out today for a little nostalgia trip and it was an 'enlightening' experience indeed :) I had almost decided to stick with it but for a few issues:
* Setting E to be the default WM caused gnome-panel to behave badly, though if I switched to E by killing Metacity, there were no problems.
* Keybindings didn't work as usual. I tried e16keyedit but no avail.
* On a celeron 770 Megger w/ 128 MB and i180 graphics, speed is an issue, though going a little easy on the eye-candy options led to some crisp performance.
I'm still gonna use it at home, anyway!
Some of you might be wondering what the heck E16 is. Well, it is the 0.16.x series of Enlightenment Window Manager that used to be the default WM in RedHat Linux 6.x :) It was, and still is, the coolest piece of eye-candy you can get.
