Compareindia.com is also a good place. It gives u ability to shortlist based on parameters and then compare features n price.

However don't necessarily look for pc with higher ram. U can take less ram and upgrade to 4 gb on ur own. Buy ram from any external source. That way u will have better choice of models

Hey Mehul, I'm considering getting a new laptop- small and light with a 2 to 2.5GHz processor, 3GB RAM and 250GB HDD. I might be doing some intense numerical work on it- MATLAB/SCILAB and such. I went over to a Croma outlet today to have a look at a few laptops, but every single one had Vista preinstalled. No option to get one with Linux or without an OS.
