Hello All,
I am looking for a video cropper that works in FC4. Uncle google pointed towards LIVES. After some dependency hassles I downloaded LIVES but thats too slow and hangs and sometimes I need to press the reset button as it hangs my system too. It may be due to the conflicts in rpms as some dependencies were downloaded from yum and some from the forbidden lavin(?). However I am now looking for something thats easy to load directly from yum and works properly. I have converted some dvds to single mpeg files (in windows) and I need to split them into 2 cds. I was wonndering if any all purpose video editor is available for linux.
Any tips, with user experience?
Regards,
Rony.

U need a powerful machine with tons of ram to do nonlinear editing.

If u have converted using M$ mpeg4 format u are done for good. As usual M$ avi is on a nonstandard trip (or should that be rip) and wont render with any non M$ codec. Take the original dvd and convert on a linux box.

Hmmm! I have only quintals of ram in my machine. However I recollect there was an editing software in the Mandrake 10.1 that I had earlier just opened once but now I don't know its name.

It is done in mpeg1 format as it was meant to be converted into a vcd. VLC as well as LIVES can play the file but lives has that hanging problem.
