hi luggers i have created 2 partitions on a 20 gb samsung drive c: & D:,i have installed win2000server on D: drive and after that i deleted c: and installed Redhat linux 7.2 on it.I have properly mentioned the information on lilo boot loader about both the os.I have set Win2000 as default os to load,but after the installation of linux and reboot the machine shows menu of os to be loaded and when i select win2000 it goes to dos,but when i select linux it works fine.I cant load win2000 server now,please help me i need urgent help. Hi, After going to DOS mode ( As windows is dropping you to that) just type "win" after going to the appropriate directory.
I think this should work and if this doesn't work then try this
1) Boot in Linux 2) Become su. 3) cd /etc 4) vim ( or your preferred editor ) lilo.conf 5) Just check for a line that has "linear" in this conf file if it is there. 6) If there is linear written then delete it and put "lba32" in place of it. 7) Write to file and then exit. 8) Type on the prompt "lilo" , this should update the bootloader.
Now try............. i think this should work. Let me know if it works.

Your bootloader config has to be worked on. I ain't too sure about the parameters that go into the
/etc/grub.conf file. But check it out on the net and you should have more than an appropriate ans to that.
I suggest first checking which bootloader you are using LILO/GRUB and the depending on that...go ahead read up the docs and make the appropriate changes.
For lilo --> /etc/lilo.conf and rerun bash#lilo -v for grub --> /etc/grub.conf and just reboot.
