This month's LFY comes with live + install Sabayon 1.1 Linux. My vendor too has co-operated to exchange defective media. However this month LFY appears to have improved its media quality and I have not found any problems yet. I tried out the live Sabayon DVD and there is only one way to describe Sabayon Linux :- TOO SEXY.

It gets even better. Sabayon uses KDE, the great desktop environment. Sabayon is already loaded with popular multimedia codecs and works out of the box. The sound was not coming from my speakers and it was because the 'headphones' channel in the mixer (kmix) did not have its green dot highlighted. Once that was clicked, sound was perfect. Firefox comes pre-loaded with flash player so you can watch/listen flash content too. My system has a 512 MB RAM but I am sure even 256 MB RAM machines will load the live session without a problem as it appears to be quite light on the system. I am writing this mail from the live session.

Even if one has his/her own favourite distro, this live DVD is definately worth a look. As one of our members would have put it, it takes the pants off Windows desktops.
