Then again the question of ejecting the knx cd while its running. No problems with that too as long as you don't try to start a new software after ejecting the cd. The kernel and quite a considerable amount is loaded into ram so it doesn't need the cd for that. Keep whatever software you want running and then eject. And to eject, first unmount the cd via root console then manually eject ! :D
i tried to do tht.i logged on as root(via Ctrl+Alt+F2) and unmounted the cd via root console but failed to eject it. moreover can anybody suggest me how to pass more then one arguments at the boot prompt of Knoppix3.2 cd.i want to pass "knoppix xvrefresh=60" and "single user mode command i.e knoppix1" simultaneously. plz help me out.thanks in advance. micky.
try this on the boot prompt :knoppix xvrefresh=60 knoppix1 knoppix wheelmouse .....etc ...might work...it works in 3.1

after unmounting the cdrom type "eject /dev/hd*" where * denotes alphabet of ur cd drive..

you can type the arguements back to back

This is surprising! Passing kernel parameters is so easy ... the original poster, Harmeek, didn't even try that before posting this question on the list???
This is something that should be definitely tackled (frowned upon?) if we are to encourage newbies to understand the FLOSS way of working with software.
