I just exorcised windoze from my comp. Now, Dad uses the comp for mail and browsing. So, I'd like to have luggers suggestions, about which mailer/browser to suggest to my Dad. Some obvious options are Evolution, Balsa, Kmail, Kconq, Mozilla, Opera. I'd choose a Evolution/Opera combo. What do you say??

My dad and sis use pine for mail, and netscape for browsing.
I've got my machine set up with fetchmail, that automatically downloads mail on connect. procmail sorts mail into separate mail boxes. I have the mail applet in Gnome panel that starts spinning when new mail arrives, and clicking on it (once) opens pine. Pine is set up to spawn netscape on choosing a url, and electric eyes for images. Other url-viewers are also possible.
This set up works very well.
