Has anyone tried EDGE GPRS on Linux?
The GPRS service is a terrible farce. Afaik no cell company is providing edge. And it should not make a difference to GNU/Linux. EDGE is gprs on top of some fancy GSM modulation and compression. The handset and SP should have EDGE capability. The rest is ye ole ppp.

Orange and Hutch have already moved to edge gprs 2 months ago. Airtel is expected to follow through.
