Dear Nadiem,
The issue is that Redhat 9 which U are using .... When Redhat 9.0 was released the 845 chipset was very fresh and support was not present properly .....
Just as Redhat 7.0 did not supported 810E chipset onboard sound card ... the sound was fast forwarded
Redhat 7.2 came with proper driver
So in Ur case better try some latest rpm for the sound driver
Or better even try Fedora Core....
If using 9.0 is too important try using new driver for it
Hope I am of some help..............
Regards,
Shailesh
