Yes, I've used it on the small scale. Its good. You can directly sync the files using Nautilus. There is a web interface too, for uploading and downloading the files.
You can share the files with other people in the cloud.
But still I didn't get what exactly you are looking for. :(

I believe there is a cluster installation & a node installation, the node being the front end? I have around 25 users here. What kind of PC specs would be advisable for the cluster & node?
