I am looking for a simple linux distro with following features for few of celeron 256Mb machines.
- Light window manager.
- Networking
- Abword
- and spread sheet.
I tried DSL, knoppix, ubuntu, but non of them work. Any idea, suggestions, but no war ;-)
Try PuppyLinux, Debian with the LXDE desktop, use text based installer.

Thanks Arun, for suggesting puppy. It rocks. Now there is one XP machine with canon printer. I wish to use this printer from puppy machine. Any idea how to go ahead...... Do I need CUPS?

Glad that Puppy Linux worked out for you. As for the printer you will need CUPS and point it to the smb:// URI to your Windows XP machine.

Yes, hopefully I will be able to expand puppy. I did not find much documentation on the net for puppy. Regarding printer, Do I need CUPS to run on puppy machine? Can the printer be shared by SAMBA?

In the above link, I think the Windows part of installing ghostscript, redmon etc can be avoided as the OS itself has the necessary sharing utilities and probably is already shared with other XP clients. It is only the Linux machine that needs to be configured.
