Hi,
I am Natarajan, and have come to Mumbai recently. One of the first things that I did was to subscribe to iLUG-BOM. I was and still a member of iLug Chennai. I would like to attend the meetings of ILUG-BOM. It would be nice if someone could throw some light on how to reach the place and such details... ( I am completely new to Mumbai, and Hindi is one of my weakpoints.). I would also like to know the general activities and strategy of the group. Is it something like ilug-chennai, which is completely free for all, or does it have a slight commercial tilt .. or something.....
Thanks for the info.
Regards Natarajan

did you read the mailing list contract when you signed up? i dont know abt ilug-chennai, but here you are charged for every mail you send on the LUG.This goes towards maintaining the mail server. The first 5 mails are free, after that you pay 1Re per mail.Cash left after paying for the site hosting is blown up at the LUG meets for pizzas and drinks. You will receive a monthly statement of your dues. We also charge 2% of your first month's salary for jobs you get through ads on this mailing list.posting of job ads is free. For every professional services contract you get through the LUG mailing list you will have to contribute 2 boxes of debian cds to the LUG. Over and above all this, the LUG Core Commitee might impose a fine for every blazingly nonsensical, irrelevant and/or MS-supporting mails.
Welcome to the real world!
regds, Kishor PS: the directions to the meeting place are on the site...

I seriously hope no one on the list (or those seeing the archives later) takes your reply seriously :-)
I hope to see a reply from Mr. Natrajan to ensure he has not decided to stay with ILUG chennai instead of mumbai

This is a news to me When did this happened ? I was not knowing this..... Surprising..... The mailing list is going commercial....
..... & I was telling my friends that we give free support on a mail for all linux community members.
Thanks & Regards, SAMEER
