Yes, I am aware of it and have given CDs/DVDs, offered my time as a volunteer for FOSS events, organized forums for talks/install fests ... all gratis.
BTW, what is wrong in making a career out of it?

Arun: There is nothing wrong with that, just a choice. Two people come to mind: Bill Gates had a call to spread Windows and ended up a billionaire. Mother Teresa made a career of caring for the destitute & dying. She ended up being dead and in poverty (albeit voluntary with millions in the bank). :-)

Nothing illegal in building up a monopoly. Free market and all that..Give the devil his due. He did bring uniformity & interoperabilty to the world of pc. Try transferring some files off of C-64 to an Atari or Apple ...
