Thats where the problem lies in this world, emotions. First of all cool it!!!! i may not have read all the books that u prob have , but i bet one of them has keepin ur cool as its what shall i say KEY POINTS.
Never loose my ambient temp which is always kinda high - keeps one fit.
And while we are at business ethics my dear nice fella again excuse me for me not havin read all those books that u probably stack up , i just know one business ethic or moral or watever customer, and repeat customer, and more customers and if u havent made it out just yet il give u a hint its CUSTOMERS.
Thanks for the confirmation about the books but do read up before all those customers wisen up to illegal business practices and get u.
And that M$ has more than any of our redhats or whatever hats.
Funny how M$ keeps loosing them INSPITE of a their lack of scruples.
But please allow me to make it clear that m not a M$ evangalist.
who cares even if you are. Just don't make illogical observations about business ethics without understanding the legalities and wider ranifications.
I just believe that u gotta acknowldege that foss cant match microsoft in every segment. Now u might say that the windows market share in desktop secotor is dropping but its somewhat like maruti u know itl drop but still they will have more than half of the market for atleast 10-15 years from now.
Maruti or M$. While 15 yrs is like 15 light yrs in the computing world, let's say we look in 3 yrs time and see where M$ will be (assuming that they continue their current behavior).
And morals and ethics that went out of the window long time back not just from business but from our world in geenral.
The FLOSS methodology of development can indeed address broader issues, but shall we stick to computers and FLOSS rather than world politics, global warming, green philosphy and life on other (SETI should help u) worlds.
Now one thing more, the reason i have joined this mailing list is because i personally like using Linux and the community process asssociated with it and moreover i would like to get good at it..And i support the idea that people should have a choice. But i dont believe that a complete disregard for what a rival is doing will do any good to my cause.
Weren't we focussing attention on an ethically challenged company who restricts choice by illegal activities and by using the naive in it's scheme?
So dude chill, take it easy. And ya piracy where did i mention my likin of piracy? And thanks for the info which i was diein to get from a learned person like you about GNU/Linux. Thanks a lot.
Hope u got it. By justifying illegal behavior u are doing a definite disservice to FLOSS. FLOSS relies on legal and ethical behaviour to proliferate and progress.

Maruti is where it is because of Government policy. Microsoft is where it is because of it's marketing and licensing. I wouldn't say that all Maruti cars are good (comparing to the competition) nor would I say that all MS software is good.

Umm, that would be lose - with a singl o.
Sorry, but this thread is going nowhere. Moderator may have to step in and stop it soon. And yes jtd, please calm down. Remember your netiquette rules.
Emotions on a mailing list often lead to misunderstanding and flame wars. This happens primarily because of the lack of facial expressions and visual cues to indicate your true mood, and secondly because not everyone on the list may be aware of your nature. Ones online personality must necessarily be calm.

Umm, years and light years are different. A year is a measure of time while a light year is a measure of distance.
